App Store ranking history

App Store ranking history that remembers the move.

Ranking history is more useful when it starts before you remember to track it. RankMemo archives supported public category and overall charts continuously, then surfaces dated highlights for followed apps.

History can predate signup

The shared archive collects supported chart scopes whether or not a user is already following an app. When a new user adds an app, RankMemo can search those past observations for real dated appearances.

  • Global archive runs continuously
  • Past highlights require an actual stored observation
  • No invented ranks for dates without coverage

A timeline, not a pile of snapshots

Storing the same unchanged position four times per day would create noise. RankMemo compresses stable periods into intervals and starts a new one only when the position changes or the app leaves or re-enters coverage.

  • Dated start and end of each observed rank
  • Movements remain easy to chart
  • Storage grows with changes, not only elapsed time

Category and overall history stay distinct

A #12 category rank is not equivalent to #12 overall. Every historical observation retains its storefront, chart type, category, price type, provider, and coverage depth.

  • Primary-category history is the main signal
  • Top Free or Top Paid adds broader context
  • Country-specific timelines never collapse into an average

Evidence behind every highlight

A highlight includes the observed date and position. Source failures are recorded separately, so an unavailable Apple page cannot become a fictional ranking drop in your history.

  • Successful observations drive highlights
  • Provider health remains visible
  • Confidence and coverage are preserved

Questions, answered

What developers usually want to know.

Can RankMemo show rankings from before I created an account?

Sometimes. RankMemo continuously archives supported public chart scopes. If your app appeared inside a covered chart before signup, that dated observation can become a historical highlight.

Does the archive store duplicate rows when a rank is unchanged?

No. Unchanged positions extend a compact rank interval. A movement, exit, or re-entry starts a new interval, preserving the timeline without unnecessary duplicates.

How long is ranking history available?

The Free plan exposes 30 days of history. Indie Pro includes the complete available history for followed apps.

Is historical coverage guaranteed?

No. History begins when RankMemo successfully observes a supported public chart and is limited to the chart depth and storefront coverage available at that time.
